Opening
Reception: Fri, Feb 10 | 7pm to 9pm
The
‘For the Love of Shoes’ exhibit returns to the Okotoks gallery! Showcasing
12 pairs of women’s shoes donated by 12 Canadian celebrities. They were
transformed into works of art by Alberta artists and designers. The exhibit
celebrates the feminine and reflects changes in the lives of those affected
by breast cancer. Included in the exhibition are the artists’ and donors’
personal stories of how breast cancer has affected them. Shoe Donor Liona
Boyd will be performing at the Rotary Club March 3rd and will be
visiting the exhibit. Contact OAG for concert tickets. The shoe collection
will be auctioned off through the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation with an
on-line auction ending in October.

Alberta Craft Council Gallery - Located in Edmonton, this
gallery strives to enhance the art culture in Alberta. In order to
have your work represented you must submit samples to be juried by a panel.
They look for unique style, quality and marketability. They also
mentor artists to push the boundaries and continue to grow. I am
thrilled that ACC has accepted my work to be carried in their gallery!

I was pleased to be invited
to participate in this project spear-headed by Ekaterina Lapteva who is a
model and 4th year marketing student at the University of
Calgary. By organizing a series of fashion events Ekaterina hopes to boost
the fashion culture in Calgary by showcasing the talents of local clothing
designers, photographers, models, stylists, makeup artists and even a
jewellery designer!
